Brace yourselves Willy-fans, the time has come for your favorite orca to make his mark on the new millenium. _____________________________________________________________ "Free Willy's Descendent" (working title) aka Free Willy 4, Scheduled for late 2006 release Synopsis: It is the year 2009. It has been many years since Willy died at the hands of Japanese whalers. The western world momentarily mourned him when a bit appeared on CNN and many continued to care for approximately five minutes longer than was expected by the Bureau of Media Statistics. Sympathizers were shocked to hear that his blubber was sold on the blackmarket for 500 yen p/kg, his skeletal structure whittled into fake-ivory piano keys and the contents of his stomach (plankton and the remains of actor Jason James Richter) barbaracly preserved and displayed in a Jap Whaling museum. But life goes on as they say, and the times they were a'changin... A genetically engineered killer whale descended from the original Willy is bred to live in fresh water. When the department responsible is being investigated for unlawful genetic engineering on humans, such as the spawning of babies with flippers for feet and gills in place of ears that also serve as sonar sensors, they quickly dismantle their operation and attempt to destroy all evidence; the compound in which the fresh water whale is being held is seaside, and in a rushed operation the whale is released into salt water by a young assistant scientist moments before being arrested by armed government agents. Willy Jr finds himself in a troublesome situation, much akin to having a plastic bag over your head with an inadequately sized hole where your mouth is. In a frantic effort to survive he swims along the coast and enters a channelled river used by tankers and trade ships. For days he swims upriver and encounters many friendly fish and also many hostile ones. Along the way he meets a female pike and despite their significant difference in size they strike up a very close friendship. Back in the world of men, the government agency has followed a paper trail that has unveiled knowledge of the genetic engineering agency’s activities, and upon interrogating the young scientist that released him, the hunt for Willy is on. An entire battalion is mobilized to find and seize him. 37 Black Hawk helicopters are dispatched to sweep all water inlets from Washington State to the tip of Florida’s peninsula. For weeks they scan rivers, lakes and reservoirs, somewhat pointlessly as there is no way Willy could have traversed land in order to enter said lake or reservoir. As the days pass, Willy is moving further upstream, increasing the area the government is required to search. In an act of desperation they shoot nuclear torpedos into all major rivers at their point of origin, sending radioactive material downstream and ultimately destroying all life in the waterways. At this, animal activists mobilize and assault the military stations constructed along the riversides (used as lookouts for Willy). The activists effectively bring public attention to the situation, and the middle class people of America rise up against the government’s efforts, launching full fledged assaults with their legal hand guns and slaughtering all personnel in the white house, pentagon and all inland military camps. The bloodshed results in the complete dissolution of organised government in America, and George Bush retreats to a hole in the ground similar to the one in which Saddam was found. Willy is left alone with his female pike, and their pikelets to come. He lives happily ever after until the radioactive material reaches him and he dies a sudden, grizzly death. His girlfriend, the pike, survives however and gives birth to many malformed pikelets, one of which becomes the next Willy. Following this 2006 feature will be Free Willy 5 which is scheduled for an EARLY 2007 RELEASE. _____________________________________________________________ I wish I had some teaser pictures to show off but it's early days and the production is being kept completely underwraps.
